“As an innovator, you are here to be absolutely true to yourself in the face of actual or possible fierce pressure from those around you to shut up, sit down, and snap in, or face their severe rejection.” -Ronelle Coburn, Destiny within reach: discover the inner purpose of your life and what it takes to live it

Are you a master of self-approval?

This article is the second in a series on finding your purpose called “Could This Be Your Life Purpose?”

The way to know, for sure, what the purpose of your life is is to have your hands read. You can find your purpose by examining your fingerprints and looking for gift marks on your hands.

Hand analysis as we know it today was created by Richard Unger. He wrote LifePrints and is the founder of the International Institute for Hand Analysis.

The innovator / master of self-approval …

If you are an innovator, you will be happier when you follow your heart, even if it takes you away from the approval of those who are most important to you.

You will feel more satisfied doing your thing your way. This purpose requires you to know yourself well to be true to who you really are.

Possible challenges …

(1) Live on others’ terms rather than your own.

(2) Live like a hermit for fear of rejection. Avoid connections to protect yourself from getting hurt.

(3) Codependency: pleasing people.

(4) Be very critical of yourself.

(5) Feeling that you don’t fit in or don’t belong.

Question journal …

(1) What are the indications in your life that this could be your purpose? Write as many examples as you can remember in your journal.

(2) How much are you able to inhabit the awareness of this life purpose in your daily life? How would you rate it on a scale of 1 to 10?

(3) Can you integrate this energy into your job or career? Are you aware of using this energy in your work?

(4) Have you ever experienced the opposite of innovative energy?

(5) Do you ever feel like you are following someone else’s agenda or path instead of your own?

If you found that you were nodding “yes” by reading the description and were able to think of various experiences that affirm this life purpose, then you may be an innovator.
