If you’re an online marketer, you probably understand that getting a free and fast target listing is the key to generating revenue. You probably also realize that buying this list is a bad idea, as there is no such thing as a ‘new list’. Many sellers have written everyone on a purchased list and the people on the list have become experts at using the trash can in their mailboxes.

So what exactly is a list? It is an asset for the seller. You can send emails to the people on your list to tell them about the products you sell. Since they are exposed, they might be interested and will buy. You don’t push your list… they only buy when they need things but they buy from you because they know you.

Now usually I would make these lists in very specific niches. Let’s say you’re marketing wealth education products, you’re probably looking at people who are having challenges with debt recovery or credit repair. Or you could even target high net worth individuals who need asset management or estate planning services. So even in the wealth space, you have a lot of sub-niches, so to speak.

So the point is that you don’t just need lists, you need lists that are well segmented. Now, how do you get lists like that? There are only two options.

The first is to create sites and set up autoresponders that will use web forms to capture visitor data. Now advertise sites for fast and consistent traffic and receive at least 25-50 completed web forms per day. This way you will have a list of around 1000 people during the month and this will certainly be covered even if you have a reasonably priced product to sell.

The other form is the joint venture. This would involve partnering with another marketer to submit a sub-niche of theirs and they submit theirs. Once that’s done, assuming a 5 percent click-through rate, with a list of 1,000 each, you have 50 new contacts in the day without spending any money on advertising.

By building a network of joint venture partners, you can have more such exchanges on a daily basis. I would recommend a combination of both strategies to the beginning marketer, but the latter is the final direction to move in…and quickly get a free target list.
